The End for Herman Cain? Announcement Soon (ContributorNetwork)

COMMENTARY | Although GOP hopeful Herman Cain is still claiming that he had no sexual relationship with latest accuser Ginger White, the evidence is pointing toward at least some alleged impropriety. A report filed by CNN has indicated that Cain's wife Gloria had no knowledge of any association between Cain and Ginger White until she came out with the accusations of an affair last week.

If the five other accusations of misconduct aren't enough, the fact that Gloria Cain didn't even know of White's existence could be very telling. With donations from campaign supporters rapidly dwindling, even Cain stated in a column in Politico that dropping out was an option. He went onto state that this is something he will have to talk to his family, namely his wife about.

I'm thinking that there are quite a number of things being talked about around the Cain family dinner table right now. Whether or not he should still run for president is likely the last of them. What's probably the hottest topic in that room is why would Herman Cain be giving money to another woman and his wife not knowing about it. People could have given the benefit of the doubt to Cain if these allegations were limited to one person. With the count at somewhere around a half a dozen people, the allegations are beginning to hold more water than before.

If they didn't have at least a little bit of credibility, Herman Cain would not be floating that an announcement regarding his future in the 2012 campaign. He would deny and then ignore.

However, Cain even stated in the New York Daily News that he had given Ginger White money. Furthermore, he should have told his wife about it. In my opinion, it seems that Cain is doing everything he can to admit only what he has to while still maintaining his image as a viable candidate. With the possibility of him dropping out of the presidential hunt any day now; it seems that even he doesn't believe he can go the distance anymore.

And with the continued barrage of accusations that are showing to have the slightest shreds of truth to them, asking his wife if he should still run for president should be last on his mind. Forgiveness should be right at the top of his list.
