What the gossip mags say | Stuff.co.nz

Babies, babies, and more babies feature in one of the women's magazines this week, while two of the mags report on new men in Katie Holmes' life.

New Idea said Holmes could not wipe the smile off her face after finding a "new rock" to rely on.

He is "believed to be married legal eagle" Jonathan Wolfe, with the pair enjoying a friendly lunch date and taking a relaxing stroll in the New York autumn sunshine.

Friends said the pair bonded during Holmes' stressful split from Tom Cruise.

Woman's Day reported it could "exclusively reveal" Holmes, 33, had fallen for fellow actor, and handsome Harvard graduate, Alex Schemmer.

Schemmer, who has had roles on Cougar Town and Modern Family, is the writer of Holmes' new film Responsible Adults.

A source who was close to Holmes and spoke to her regularly revealed: "Katie has a massive crush on Alex. It's pretty adorable how much she likes him."

Another of Holmes' close friends gasped: "Oh, my god, how do you know about this already? It's only just started!"

Once it has dealt with Holmes and Schemmer, Woman's Day swings into the baby theme that is prominent in this week's issue.

Under the headline "Clucky young royals", the magazine reported rivalry was showing between royal brides Zara Phillips and Kate Middleton, with the newlyweds competing to start their families first.

The newlyweds, who married last year, "are said to be neck-and-neck when it comes to plans to produce the next royal offspring, as pressure from the palace mounts".

A little further on, Woman's Day reports on the birth of singer Adele's baby boy.

"We're told, 'This is a dream come true for both Adele and Simon. She is so looking forward to enjoying all that comes with being a mum'," it said.

Then it's the "much-wanted third child" for Classic Hits breakfast host Stacey Morrison and husband Scotty, a presenter on Te Karere and Marae Investigates.

Like her two older siblings, newborn Maiana Sam Morrison was born in Rotorua Hospital. After the birth the family gathered at Scotty's childhood home on the shores of Lake Rotorua.

"We wanted our children to be born at a place they belong and where they are surrounded by their ancestors on both sides, in a place we know they'll always come back to," Stacey Morrison explained.

Then there is an article about the first birthday for TVNZ presenter Renee Wright's son Leo. The party's theme came from the movie Finding Nemo which has a clownfish as its central character.

Leo was over the moon when Renee presented him with a Nemo costume on the eve of his birthday.

Actor Miriama Smith, 36, talks about becoming unexpectedly pregnant early in her relationship with partner Dylan.

"It was a beautiful surprise. It was a shock, but at the same time, it just felt so right. I really believe things happen when they are meant to," Smith said.

Despite being pregnant, Smith carried on with a Habitat for Humanity visit to the "searing heat" of Sri Lanka, to build homes for 24 families.

Former Warriors rugby league player Aaron Heremaia and wife Enrica have a new son who is helping heal the pain after their identical twin boys died last year 17 weeks into pregnancy as a result of twin-to-twin transfusion syndrome.

New son Grayson "has filled the void in our hearts", Aaron said. "Through all the heartache and pain, he has drawn us closer together. He is a much-loved child."

New Zealand Woman's Weekly reported on, "The fight for Harry's heart".

During his tour of duty in Afghanistan, helicopter pilot Prince Harry has been having long phone conversations with Cressida Bonas, after she previously put their romance on hold when photos surfaced of him cavorting naked with other women in Las Vegas, the Weekly reported.

But some of the prince's friends have said Harry was not over his ex, Chelsy Davy. The two spent seven years together and Harry would "never get over her".

New Idea has a six-page spread about the Italian wedding of JustinTimberlake and Jessica Biel, while also reporting that Kanye West is believed to have made a marriage proposal to Kim Kardashian during their Italian holiday.

"Insiders say the Italian holiday - Kanye's present for Kim's 32nd birthday - was the perfect chance for the rapper to pop the question."
