Our multi-national IT solutions client needs a Contract Technical Writer to create installation and reference documentation for their enterprise storage solutions.
Please apply if you?ve documented SAN (storage area networks) or NAS (network attached storage) technology for Isilon, DataDomain (now both owned by EMC), HP (3Par), NetApp, or their competitors, and are comfortable creating structured (XML) content.
You?ll work mostly onsite in Santa Clara initially, until you?re up to speed, then quickly transition to only one (1) day/week onsite. This will be full-time (40 hours/week) work for six (6) months (renewable). You?d be paid on a 1099 basis, unless you prefer W2.
Required:
- Strong working knowledge of networked storage solutions
- Experience documenting deployment (installation, configuration, tuning) of enterprise software for IT datacenter engineers
- Sharable, relevant writing samples and reachable references
- Full-time, long-term availability
- Ability to work in Santa Clara, CA (traveling at your own expense)
Desired:
- Proven ability to author content in DITA XML
- Exposure to Component Content Management Systems (CCMS); this company uses Astoria
