DETOX GREEN CITRUS SMOOTHIE | Diary of a Social Gal

This week, Diary is whipping up an ultra-detoxing, super-energizing, liver-balancing treat for your drinking pleasure. This healthy, zesty blend is like sunshine in a cup (sans the harmful UV rays). The lemon and ginger support digestion and the immune system, while the grapefruit and orange are loaded with Vitamin C. With such a potent, tangy m?lange you won?t even notice you?re getting your daily serving of leafy greens at the same time. Use it as a refreshing kick-start to your day, or a zingy afternoon pick-me-up. Your body will thank you, and so will your taste buds. Cheers!

INGREDIENTS:

Serves 1 large or 2 small

  • 1 grapefruit
  • 1 orange
  • 1 lemon
  • 1 apple
  • 1 tablespoon grated ginger
  • 1 pinch of cayenne
  • 1 large handful kale
  • 1 cup water
  • 3-4 ice cubes

Peel and slice the grapefruit, orange and lemon then chop the apple. Combine all ingredients in a blender and puree until smooth.
